BSHD DisAbility Workshop (#DW24) Theme: Road to 2030: Unpacking Challenges and Opportunities of the DisAbility-Climate Change Nexus
The workshop comes at a time when the world is past the mid-point of the 2030 Agenda, yet only 15 percent of the assessable SDG targets are on track. We therefore view the #DW24 project as a strategy that enables BSHD and its valued stakeholders to significantly contribute to the improvement of Botswana’s largely stagnating Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets. One of our main concerns being good health and wellbeing.
The Botswana Society for Human Development (BSHD) NGO was founded in October 2013 and licensed by the Botswana government on March 10, 2014. In June 2014, BSHD became a Member of the Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO). The NGO was co-founded by a group of young women whom in December 2012 were selected by the Mpule Kwelagobe Institute to make up 40 of the young African females to take part in the Network of Women Investing in Africa (NEW Africa) Leadership Program. Since establishment, the NGO has a minor male membership and a number of registered volunteers.
